3.9 /5 Overall score
average of 5 criteria
  • Spec strength5.0

4250 A and 99 Wh — the most amps and the biggest pack in this group; GOOLOO's GP4000 is rated 4000 A.

  • Build quality4.5

IP65, -4°F to 122°F operating range and a published charging range, which GOOLOO does not provide.

  • Fit & compatibility4.0

Covers 8.0 L diesels (Power Stroke, Duramax, Cummins) but at 5.82 lb and 12 inches long it will not fit a glovebox like the 2.45 lb GB40.

  • Warranty & support3.0

1 year on a $370 tool, vs 24 months on HULKMAN and up to 30 on GOOLOO.

  • Value3.0

$369.95 is nearly double the GOOLOO GP4000's $189.99 list for a similar 4000-amp-class rating.

Score is calculated from the manufacturer's published specifications. BaniCar has not handled this unit. Specs and availability change — verify on the listing.

Safety note: Jump starters deal with high current. Follow the manufacturer's clamp order and engine-size limits; check the manual before use.

Verdict

If you run a diesel pickup, a boat or a fleet, this is the spec-sheet leader and NOCO's safety design is the reason to pay for it. Sedan owners are carrying 5.8 lb and $370 they do not need.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 4250 A peak and a 99 Wh pack for big diesels
  • 60 W USB-C PD charges the unit and powers laptops
  • 500-lumen flashlight with strobe and SOS
  • IP65 and a published -4°F to 122°F operating range

Cons

  • 5.82 lb and 12 inches long — a trunk tool, not a glovebox tool
  • 1-year warranty is short for the price
  • No 12 V DC output
  • 60 W PD charger is not included; charging at 2.5 W takes about 64 hours

Best for

  • Diesel truck, RV and boat owners
  • Shops and fleets that jump big engines regularly

Frequently asked questions

Will the GBX155 start a 6.7 L Power Stroke or Cummins?

NOCO rates it for diesel engines up to 8.0 L, so both are inside the rating. Battery condition and temperature still matter.

Can it jump a frozen battery?

No. NOCO's user guide warns: do not attempt to jump start a damaged or frozen battery, and use only on 12 V lead-acid batteries.

How low can the dead battery be?

NOCO says it will detect and start batteries down to about 3 V. Below that you can use manual override, which disables the safety protections, so check polarity carefully.
