Peak Design Car Vent Mount (Qi2 Charging) review: 4.0/5 from the spec sheet

Verdict
For people already in the Peak Design Mobile ecosystem, this is the sturdiest vent mount you can buy. Everyone else pays a premium plus a case or adapter; the Belkin or iOttie Qi2 mounts charge just as fast for less.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Machined aluminum construction and a lifetime warranty
- Qi2 charging with the strongest-rated magnetic lock when paired with a Peak Design case
- Works with MagSafe iPhones without an adapter
Cons
- Requires a Peak Design case or Universal Adapter for full strength, and the adapter can hurt charging
- Highest list price in this group at $99.95
- Vent-only; the brand itself says it is compatible with many but not all vents
Best for
- Peak Design Mobile case owners
- Drivers who hate plastic mounts that loosen over time
- Overlanders and truck owners on rough roads

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Peak Design case to use it with an iPhone 17?
No — Peak Design states it also works with MagSafe phones and cases. You only need the Peak Design case or Universal Adapter for the full SlimLink lock or for non-MagSafe phones.
Does it fit Tesla or round vents?
Peak Design says it is compatible with many but not all vents; retailer fit data lists fin spacing of roughly 7–23 mm. Teslas have no exposed vent fins, so look at the brand's dash/console mount (model M-CM-AA-BK-2) instead.
How fast does it charge a Pixel or Galaxy?
Qi2-enabled phones can draw up to 15 W; phones without Qi2 get a standard ~5 W per Peak Design's FAQ. A magnetic case is required for alignment on Android.
